Seminar on Makhdooms

PONNANI: A national seminar on the role of Makhdooms in fighting imperialism will mark the 500th death anniversary of nationalist Islamic scholar and historian Shaikh Zainuddeen Makhdoom to be observed here on Friday. The Sunni Coordination Committee will spearhead the anniversary observation. M.P. Abdussamad Samadani, former MP, will inaugurate the seminar at Akbar Auditorium at 2.30 p.m. Assembly Deputy Speaker Jose Baby will distribute educational aid provided by the committee. K.K.N. Kurup, former vice-chancellor of Calicut University, will present the subject. Husain Randathani, principal of MES Keveeyam College, Valanchery, will moderate the seminar.
