Award for Raman Pillai

KOCHI: K. Raman Pillai, who recently launched Kerala Janapaksham, has been selected for the M.P. Manmadhan Memorial Award. This is the first time the Prof. M.P. Manmadhan Memorial Samithy is giving an award after the Samithy was formed 12 years ago. Mr. Pillai was chosen for his contributions in public service. K. R. Raman Kartha, former president of Guruvayur Devaswom Board, as president and P.N. Prasannakumar, member of the Central Wage Board for working journalists, were among the members of the committee. The award has been instituted for contributions in political, social, educational and journalistic fields for public welfare. — Staff Reporter
