VISAKHAPATNAM: At a meeting organised by the Christian Front on Monday, its president Bhaskar Benny underscored the need for unity among all churches. This would enable the development of Christian community, particularly about protection of church properties. He also demanded that an ordinance be issued for protection against illegal sale/transfer/ gift/mortgage of charitable properties as per the recommendations of the house committee to a court of law, prohibiting the sale.
Despite the amendment made to Section 22/A of AP Registration Act preventing registration of religious properties, the purchasers are managing to obtain High Court order and getting the properties registered. He requested the Collector to allot a suitable land for graveyard to Christians.
