Doubling of rail track between Guntur , Krishna Canal soon

Staff Reporter

GUNTUR: “The doubling of railway track between Guntur and Krishna Canal junction will be completed by the end of September and the trial run is likely in October,” said South Central Railway, Guntur division, Senior Divisional Manager R. Kishore Babu on Tuesday.

Doubling of the railway track would ensure that some of the popular trains from Vijayawada to Chennai, such as the Pinakini Express, passed through Guntur station, Mr. Babu told reporters here.

Budgetary allocation

On the doubling of track between Guntur-Tenali, he revealed that survey has been completed for the works and the budgetary allocation would be made shortly.

Proposals were also on the cards to introduce circular trains between Vijayawada, Tenali and Guntur stations with the completion of doubling works in the next few years.

The Senior DCM said that stations between Vijayawada and Krishna Canal would get a facelift soon.
