BHOPAL: The Bhopal police claim to have solved the mystery behind the brutal double murder that claimed the lives of a local journalist and real estate developer Pawan Jain “Vidrohi” and his driver last month. The two were gunned down by unidentified killers while driving into the city on the night of July 3. Before he was murdered, Pawan Jain had lodged complaints with the police stating that he was facing a threat to his life from a local advocate over a property dispute. After he was murdered, this advocate was even rounded up by the police for interrogation. Four arrested
The Bhopal Superintendent of Police, Ananth Kumar Singh, held a press conference here on Monday evening to disclose that four persons have been arrested now in this case. Three of them — Rajesh Jain alias Raju, Mukesh Chandra Jain and Rajendra Jain — have been arrested on charges of hatching a conspiracy while the fourth accused to be arrested is Sunil Kumar Bhadoria, the alleged contract killer. According to the police, investigations so far have revealed that the three alleged conspirators were Pawan Jain’s business partners at one stage but had parted company since. Three more suspects
Three more persons suspected to be involved in the crime — Mewa Lal alias Raja Ram, Vijendra alias Kallu Jain and Arif alias Monu, all belonging to Gwalior — are lodged in the Agra Jail for different crimes.
