HYDERABAD: The fourth Military World Games will be on from October 14 to 21 despite the recent bomb blasts in Hyderabad, asserted Brigadier R. Suresh, Commandant Artillery Centre and Chairman of the infrastructure committee of the Games. After an inspection of the Games Village and venues in Artillery Centre on Tuesday, he said that till now none of the participating countries had expressed any fears on the security front. “We are going ahead with the preparations. Our security personnel are capable of handling any threats. They have the wherewithal to face any situation,” he said. “The threat perception will always be there for any major event. But I can assure you that the Army authorities are fully geared up. A 2000-strong military force for security, is already in place. We have identified some sensitive areas in and around the Games venues and have installed the latest equipment to keep a tab on all movements,” Brigadier Suresh said. “The seven-member Chinese delegation which inspected the venues here was satisfied with the arrangements. The fact that they did not even talk about the blasts is an indication of their satisfaction,” he added. Brigadier Suresh said that surveillance cameras would be in place at the competition venues and the Games Village.
