DUTA polls today

NEW DELHI: Elections to the Delhi University Teachers’ Association for 2007-09 will be held this Wednesday at the Faculty of Arts building on the North Campus between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Counting of votes will begin at 6-15 p.m. the same day.

While the Left-backed Democratic Teachers’ Front has fielded the sitting DUTA president Amar Deo Sharma for the post of president, the Congress combine of the Indian National Teachers’ Congress and the Academics for Action and Development has fielded Aditya Narain Mishra.

Avnijesh Awasthi is the presidential candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party-affiliated National Democratic Teachers’ Front.
