KOCHI: The number of viral fever cases has come down in the district, according to the reports from the District Medical Office. On Tuesday, 1,279 people reported ill with viral fever while on Onam day 638 and on Sunday were 899 people reported ill. The number of cases is still more in Paravur. For the last couple of months, over 3,000 people used to report sick every day. Though the virus is on the decline, people still have to take precaution, cautioned D. Sreenivasan, Deputy District Medical Officer. People should continue to protect themselves from mosquito bites and there should be no slackness in reducing the source of breeding pools of mosquitoes, he added.
