Action council to stage dharna

KOCHI: A dharna will be staged in front of the Edapally railway gate on September 4, under the aegis of NH-17 Action Council – Cheranalloor, in protest against the delay on the part of the Public Works Department in completing the work on the overbridge that will replace the level crossing. Council general convener Hashim Chendampilly said the decision to organise the dharna was taken on Tiruvonam day at the venue where people displaced by the move to further widen the NH 17 were agitating for the past 200 days.
