HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Association has represented to the University of Hyderabad authorities to cancel orders issued to candidates selected as lecturers, as they have been issued in violation of the Central directive to implement 27 per cent reservation for OBCs. It has contended that the appointment orders are in violation of the Andhra Pradesh High Court order in the writ petition 4514 of 2007.
R. Krishnaiah, president, in a statement issued here on Tuesday, said the association had sought implementation of the OBC reservations in the recruitment of the teaching staff. He recalled that the Union Human Resources Ministry, in its order dated October 9, 2006, had stated that all autonomous institutions receiving Government grants were required to implement reservations.
He alleged that the university, with mala fide intentions, had advertised for teacher posts without the implementation of reservation for OBCs.
