Thiruvananthapuram: The severed hand of a man was found on one of the railway tracks near the Central Station here on Tuesday. The police suspect the hand belongs to an unidentified person who was run over by a train in Mankara police station limits in Palakkad district on Monday. The Palakkad police said the body was found with its hand severed. They also found a “suicide note” on the body. Sub-Inspector, Railways, Salil Kumar said the severed hand could have got stuck under the train. Quoting forensic doctors, he said the hand could have fallen off on the track when rigor mortis receded. However, no definite opinion could be given unless the police received the full forensic examination report. The Railway police have registered a case under section 174 CrPC in connection with the incident.
