An unidentified man aged about 28 years was found murdered in a room on Banjara Hills-Tolichowki road on Tuesday. Police believe the victim was killed the previous night.
Woman robbed
A 30-year-old man robbed Alluramma, 70, of seven tolas gold chain at knifepoint while she was alone in her house at LIC Colony of Banjara Hills on Tuesday. The robber had approached the woman claiming himself as water works employee, seeking donations for the cremation of his colleague.
The woman sustained injuries on her palm while resisting the robber but the latter snatched her gold chain before fleeing the place.
Two businessmen sentenced
A local special court here had recently sentenced two businessmen, N.V.S. Naidu of M/s Nageshwara Chemicals and Drugs and P. Ramakrishna Rao of M/s Sai Krishna Enterprises, to five years and four years respectively, in a cheating case. CBI officials had registered a cheating case against them a few years ago on charge of fraudulently securing loans to the tune of Rs. 82 lakh by conniving with Canara bank officials.
