Thrilling win for Perambalur

THANJAVUR: G.S. Saravanan scalped five wickets as Perambalur scored a thrilling one-run win over Karur in a league encounter of the TNCA under-17 inter-district cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores: At Thanjavur: ‘G’ Zone: Perambalur 84 in 26.2 overs (R. Madhan three for five) bt Karur 83 in 19.3 overs (G.S. Saravanan five for 22, J. Sathyamurthy three for 25); Thanjavur 160 in 41.5 overs (G. Manikandan 41, S. Aravindan 31, J. Prasannavenkatesh four for six) lost to Madurai 161 for eight in 38.4 overs (N. Thirumurugan 53, J. Prasannavenkatesh 32 not out).

At Neyveli: ‘D’ Zone: Pudukottai 96 in 27.1 overs (R. Rohit four for 39, S. Prabhu three for 16) lost to Vellore 100 for four in 17.2 overs (R. Manoj 35 n.o.); Cuddalore 185 for nine in 50 overs (J.
