Tuticorin: The Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited (TMBL) has widened its reach by opening its 190th branch at Krishnagiri this week. Speaking at the inaugural function, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, said that thrust would be given to Financial Inclusion Projects whereby a vast sections of low income group people could open accounts at affordable cost. The bank has now opened 58,500 ‘no frill accounts.’ He said that there are plans to introduce internet banking soon for tech savvy people. Besides, the bank has envisaged plans to start ‘share trading platform.’ D. Udhaya Kumar, Managing Director, Sri Devaraj Fruit Products Limited, inaugurated the branch. S. Selvan Rajadurai, Deputy General Manager of TMBL, was present.
