Muzaffarnagar: A Dalit youth was shot at and injured by a doctor belonging to a different community in Chandpur village here on Wednesday, leading to tension in the area, police said. Mitu, a member of the Balmiki community, was shot by the doctor during an altercation, they said. The youth was seriously injured and has been admitted to a hospital. Senior police officials have rushed to the spot and additional police personnel have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
