‘Give priority to estate workers’

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Plantation workers should be given priority when the Government initiates steps to hand over the management of the tea plantations that have been closed down, said P.A. Joseph, president of the Indian Plantation Workers Federation (INTUC).

It should ensure that the benefits due to the workers are distributed when alternative arrangements for reopening the plantations are considered.
