Bhavan’s College (Sainikpuri) in last four

HYDERABAD: Bhavan’s College (Sainikpuri) entered the semifinals of the Osmania University inter-college football tournament here.

The results: Anwar-ul-Uloom bt Deccan CoE 4-0; Anwar-ul-Uloom bt Roda Mistry 1-0; Bhavan’s, Sainikpuri bt St. Mary’s, S’bad 1-0; Bhavan’s, Sainikpuri bt St. Mary’s, Yousufguda 7-6.

Easy for Tech Point

Tech Point scored a seven-wicket win over TCS in the Corporate premiership cricket tournament here.

The scores: Wipro 171 for six bt Accenture 86; Coca Cola 135 for eight bt Convergys 84; TCS 91 for seven lost to Tech Point 92 for three.

Big win for Goutam MS

Goutam Model School recorded a 10-wicket win over Hyderabad Public School (Begumpet) in the Glendale Trophy under-13 cricket tournament here.

The scores: HPS Begumpet 79 (C. Vishnu three for 15) lost to Goutam MS 81 for no loss (Arjun Deva 36 not out).

Match drawn

State Bank of Hyderabad and City College Old Boys were locked in a goalless draw in the SAAP Premier League prize money football tournament here. The match also saw the referees pull up Johnson (SBH), Anees and Mohd. Nehdi (CCOB) for unsportsmanlike behaviour.

BVB in final

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan scored a 25-23, 25-22 win over DAV Public School (Kukatpally) in the boys’ semifinal of the Regal Sports inter-school volleyball tournament here.

The results (semifinals): Boys: BVB bt DAV, Kukatpally 25-23, 25-22; APRSW bt Govt. HS, Jame-e-Osmania 25-16, 25-11.

Girls: St. Antony’s bt St. Pious 25-18, 27-25; BVB bt St. Philomenia 25-9, 25-11.

Sports Day celebrated

Andhra University celebrated the National Sports Day (birth anniversary of hockey wizard Dhyan Chand) in Visakhapatnam Wednesday. Rector B. Satyanarayana and Registrar P. Vijaya Prakash garlanded a photo of Dhyan Chand at a function organised by the AU Sports Board.
