State badminton from today

MANGALORE: The postponement of the Indian Open badminton championship has ensured the presence of leading shuttlers from Karnataka at the Dix Shipping State badminton championship that gets underway at the U. Srinivas Mallya Indoor Stadium here on Thursday.

Around 180 players from across the State would vie for total cash prize of Rs. 1.25 lakhs in the four-day event, which would see competition in 11 categories.

The event would be inaugurated by the District in-charge Minister B. Nagaraj Shetty. — Staff Correspondent
