Fake Ray Ban glasses seized in Gandhinagar

Bangalore: The City Crime Branch police on Wednesday seized Rs. 1.5 crore worth of fake Ray Ban sunglasses and pouches in simultaneous raids conducted on four optical shops in the city. The raids were conducted in two shops in Sukhsagar Mall in Gandhinagar, one shop in City Centre Mall and one shop in Kilari Road. The team, which was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) B.R. Ravikante Gowda, has arrested seven people, A. K. Zalil (28), Shafi (45), Abdul Rasheed (35), Masood (45), Abdullah (38) and Imran (24), in connection with the seizure, while Salauddin, a shop owner, is reported to be absconding. Sources said that the gang used to procure the fake items from Mumbai and Chennai and sell them under the guise of original Ray Ban glasses in Bangalore.
