What they say

C.V. Anand, City Police Commissioner:

“The Commissionerate will get strengthened with the appointment of five inspectors and 10 sub-inspectors very soon. Our plan is to divide the law and order police stations into sectors so that the workload on sub-inspectors can be reduced and they can deliver better. Each station will be divided into two sectors and a sub-inspector will head each sector. Station house officer (inspector) will coordinate the work of the two sub-inspectors in-charge of law and order and one sub-inspector in-charge of crime. I have sent a proposal to the government to sanction a post of joint commissioner of police of the rank of IPS. Though the Commissionerate has two sanctioned posts of Deputy Commissioners of Police, one post has always remained vacant. The focus is now on filling the vacancy so that the law and order and crime wings can be handled by one DCP each. Our focus is on visible policing.”
