Relief to ordnance depot fire victims

NEW DELHI: The Defence Ministry has decided on a number of steps to give compensation and relief to the victims and those affected by the fire at the Army’s ammunition depot at Khundroo in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on August 11. The decision was taken by Defence Minister A.K. Antony on Tuesday night.

The Ministry will release Rs. 10 crore as interim assistance to the State government for providing relief to people.

The amount will be adjusted against the final compensation payment to the government.
