Manjalodaipatti residents block traffic

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Over 100 residents, including 40 students, of Manjalodaipatti village blocked traffic to highlight the plight of the road at Sankarapandiyapuram in Virudhunagar district on Thursday.

They blocked the Sattur-Sankarankoil Road at Sankarapandiyapuram.

Revenue officials pacified them by promising to re-lay the road within six months.

The residents dispersed after one hour of picketing when the officials said that repair works would be taken up as a temporary arrangement.
