Protest by farmers to save Yamuna bank

NEW DELHI: To protest against concretisation of the Yamuna riverbed, a large number of farmers from villages in and around Delhi gathered to form a “Yamuna Andolan Samiti” near the Akshardham Temple complex here on Thursday.

The protest meeting was attended by representatives of several NGOs and residents’ welfare associations demanding shifting of the Commonwealth Games Village site to an alternative location.
