New Delhi: The controversy over the creation of the Salem Railway Division acquired a new dimension on Friday with a delegation of DMK, Congress and PMK Ministers and MPs airing their grievance to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The delegation told the Prime Minister that the new division had already started functioning and Rs.20 crore, out of the Rs.25-crore allocation, was spent. The Prime Minister assured the delegation that he would try to find an amicable solution to the issue, DMK sources said. Kerala had opposed bifurcation of the Palakkad Division to create a new Salem division. — PTI
