TIRUCHI: Two employees of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi – T. Rajendran and G. Kamaraj have jointly won the Prime Minister’s Shram Vir Ward for the year 2005. The award consists of Rs. 60,000 as cash prize and certificates. Mr. Rajendran is bagging the award for the second time.
While Rajendran works as a Chargeman, Kamaraj is a Technician (Fitter) in Boiler production. The two are involved in the manufacture of various products such as Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Panels, Coal valves, Headers and Ceiling Girders. Their nature of work includes material preparation, assembling, on-line inspection, hydro testing of pressure parts and final inspection.
A BHEL release said they have been contributing to the company by way of suggesting new methods for productivity improvement and implementing their ideas in the regular works to reduce cycle time and improve quality of products to the satisfaction of customers. R.N. Misra, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi congratulated the awardees for their meritorious services which fetched them the Award.
