Tuticorin: Minister P. Geetha Jeevan inaugurated the distribution of a set of new family cards (ration cards) at a function held at the Municipal office here on Thursday.

Official sources said that a total of 3,500 new family cards would be distributed in the district over the next few days. Of this, 2,046 would be given away in Tuticorin taluk alone.

The cards will be valid till 2009.
