Minister to launch ‘Intinta Indiramma’ scheme tomorrow

White cardholders to be encouraged to start new SHGs


KADAPA: Minister for Medical Education Galla Aruna Kumari will launch the ‘Intinta Indiramma’ programme at Atlur in Badvel constituency on September 1.

Possession certificates and job cards would be issued instantly and list of beneficiaries of housing and pensions would be read out in villages, District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu told newsmen on Thursday. Land availability, extent and place of land purchase would be decided in the programme.

Representations of leftover people would be reconsidered and all white ration cardholders would be encouraged to start new self-help groups, he said.

Meeting halls would be constructed for panchayat and gramikya sanghams at a cost of Rs. 4 lakhs each. The Minister would lay foundation stone for construction of meeting halls in existing buildings at a cost of Rs. 2 lakhs each.

Milk cooling units

The Minister would inaugurate the first bulk milk cooling centre at Badvel. Twenty-eight cooling units would be set up this year and mandal mahila samakhyas would maintain them. ‘Palamitra’, milk collection agencies and Milkotesters to ascertain milk quality were sanctioned. She would also inaugurate the mandal mahila samakhya building at Badvel.

Though urea was amply available, there was shortage of DAP and 28:28:28 fertilisers, Mr. Krishna Babu said. Coromandel Fertilizers and Godavari Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd agreed to send stocks to tide over the shortage, he said.
