Bihar JD (U) dissidents elect new chief

PATNA: Dissident Janata Dal (United) leaders on Thursday elected suspended leader Upendra Kushwaha as the State unit president.
Party general secretary and MLA Lallan Paswan, who convened an urgent meeting of the State council here, claimed that 304 of 383 members were present and they unanimously removed the incumbent chief Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh and elected Mr. Kushwaha.
The meeting authorised Mr. Kushwaha to reconstitute the State unit and chart the party’s future course of action.
They claimed that they had gained control over the party
