Hazaribag/Giridih: Jharkhand and Bihar police have exchanged a list of hundred wanted naxalites and persons facing criminal charges and strengthen exchange of information to pre-empt maoist operation on the contiguous parts of the two states, a top police official said on Thursday. At a high-level meeting at Hazaribag on Wednesday, the police of the two neighbouring states also discussed strategies to jointly fight against naxalites, Deputy Inspector General of Police, north Chhotanagpur range, Ajay Kumar Singh said. The joint operations would scuttle the naxalites strategy to perpetrate violence on one side of the border and cross over to the other to escape the police of the state concerned. The two sides also stressed the importance of exchange of information on the movement of maoist ‘daasta’ (attack squad) The Bihar police from their Jamui side and the Jharkhand police from their operating areas in Giridih last evening conducted joint raids against naxalites, Giridih superintenent of police Arun Kumar Singh, said. Bihar’s DIG (Gaya) Praveen Bhaskar, superintendents of police from Gaya, Nawada (both Bihar), Chatra, Hazaribag and Giridih (all Jharkhand) participated at the meeting as all the districts are bordering areas, Mr. Singh said.- PTI
