HOSUR: TVS Motor Company on Thursday rolled out seven new products, including three variants of its new three-wheeler. The other products are: an electric scooter, a new 110 cc version of the ‘StaR City’ motorcycle model, a 125 cc motorcycle ‘Flame’ and a new 160 cc version of the Apache motorcycle. The prices of all the products will be announced prior to their launch in a phased manner between October and November. Addressing presspersons at the company’s plant here, Venu Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director, said the company would manufacture the three-wheelers in two-stroke petrol, CNG and LPG versions. They would operate using LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and factory-fitted CNG (compressed natural gas), Mr. Srinivasan said. The new 125 cc bike ‘Flame’ was equipped with three-valve CC-VTi (controlled combustion variable timing intelligent) engine, Mr. Srinivasan said. TVS aimed at manufacturing about 35,000 units a year. He said the economy was growing at about nine per cent and the automobile industry would continue to grow at 12 per cent. The company hoped to manufacture about one lakh units of three-wheelers once production was in full swing, he added. On the Apache RTR 160, he said the new variant came with electronic fuel injection.
