Narayanan, Hilmi triumph

KOZHIKODE: S.L. Narayanan of Thiruvananthapuram and Hilmi Parveen of Ernakulam emerged as the champions, in the boys’ and girls’ sections respectively, in the State under-9 chess championship at the V.K. Krishna Menon Indoor Stadium here on Thursday.

The standings: 1-2. S.L. Narayanan (Tvm) and S. Manu (Knr) 4.5/5; 3-5. Athul Krishna (Kzde), O.T. Manas (Knr) and S. Anand (Tsr) 4.
