‘Make literacy campaign a success’

CHIKMAGALUR: K. Sundar Naik, Chief Executive Officer of the Chikmagalur Zilla Panchayat, said on Wednesday that steps were being taken to identify illiterates in the district.

Presiding over a meeting of the district literacy committee, he said the Government intended to achieve 85 per cent literacy by 2007 end and several programmes were being implemented. He instructed officials to initiate steps to reopen the defunct learning centres.
