Second SEZ for Kakinada

Kakinada: One more SEZ, exclusively for IT industries has been sanctioned for Kakinada, to be established by the APIIC, Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju said.The Board of Approvals (SEZs) in the Department of Commerce, Government of India at its 17th meeting at New Delhi on Thursday accorded the formal approval for this IT/ ITES sector SEZ. The Minister said, the land proposed for the IT SEZ was a government barren land and is in possession of the APIIC. The proposed investment would be Rs.182.40 crores and expected to generate a direct IT employment of 5,000 and indirect employment of 7,300.
