Yadagiri shines in Hyder XI’s win

HYDERABAD: An all-round performance by G. Yadagiri (125 and seven for 11) helped Hyder XI score a 208-run win over Raju’s Cricket Academy in a HCA Schools league cricket championship match here.

The scores:

Schools league: Hyder XI 281 (G. Yadagiri 125, Koushik 31, Parikshith five for 45) bt Raju’s CA 73 (Yadgiri seven for 11).

A-division (one-day) league: St. Mary’s 91 (Shiva five for 29) lost to Gowlipura 92 for no loss (Karan Singh 55).
Daniel Manohar to lead

Southpaw S. Daniel Manohar will make a comeback to Hyderabad State team as captain in the 77th Moin-ud-Dowla Gold Cup invitation cricket tournament to be held here from September 2.

Chess players lauded

R. Damodar Reddy, Minister for Sports & IT, congratulated B. Pratyusha, winner of the under-10 gold and Revanth, winner of the gold in the u-8 category in the recently concluded Asian youth chess championship in Dubai.
Kabaddi tournaments

The Ranga Reddy District Kabaddi Association will organise schools tournament for boys and girls in Ranga Reddy district and another one for clubs of the district as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of Ranga Reddy District Olympic Association.

Swimming meet

As part of its silver jubilee celebrations, the district aquatic association will conduct swimming competitions at Saroornagar Stadium on September 2 from 9 a.m.

Easy for Bhavan’s JC

Bhavan’s Junior College recorded a seven-wicket win over Red Son College in the HCA inter-colleges cricket tournament (under-19) here.

Jubilee Hills JC 75 lost to Wesley JC (Green) 77 for no loss.

St. John’s Church JC 136 (Rahul Ranout five for 18) bt St. Mary’s Centenary College (Secunderabad) 109 (Ashish Reddy 60, Parashar four for 13).

St. Mary’s (Himayathnagar) 117 (Lukhraj 55) lost to Little Flower JC ‘A’ 119 for six.

Red Son 96 lost to Bhavan’s JC 98 for three.
Hockey clinic

B. Narsing Prasad Rao and Mohd. Ilyas have been nominated by the Indian Hockey Federation as technical officials for the workshop-cum-clinic to be held from September 5 to 7 in Chennai in connection with the seventh Asian Cup.
Big win for International

International School scored a nine-wicket win over Glendale Academy in the Glendale Trophy inter-school cricket tournament here.

The scores:

Glendale Academy 99 for six (Akshay four for 16) lost to International 100 for one (Abdullah 47).

Nasr 80 for nine (Vishnu three for five) lost to Silver Oaks 81 for five.
