JK Tyre National racing championship

CHENNAI: The fourth round of the JK Tyre National racing championship for cars will be held on September 1 and 2 at the Madras Motor Sports Track, Sriperumbudur, here.

The event is interestingly poised at the midway stage with three more rounds to go.

Around 50 racers representing the cream of Indian formula car racing will be seen in action in three categories — Formula Rolon Chevrolet, Formula LGB Hyundai and Formula LGB Swift.

Easy for Satyabama

Sathyabama Deemed University defeated GRD College (Coimbatore) 66-48 in the basketball second round semifinal league of the Bertram memorial tournament here on Thursday.

The results: Semifinal league: Sathyabama Deemed University 66 (Geraid Thomas 12, Milton 11, Sinimon Augustin 25) bt GRD College (Coimbatore) 48 (Kishore 19, Vikram Kumar 10, Devandra Pandian 10).

Krishnaswamy-Subramanian duo wins

R. Krishnaswamy and L. Subramanian won the North-South Mitchell pairs event with 57.53 per cent in the monthly open bridge tournament.
