Rushmi, Tara make it to the main draw

NEW DELHI: The non-availability of leading players Sunitha Rao and Shikha Uberoi has helped Rushmi Chakravarthi and Tara Iyer gain entry into the main draw of the $100,000 Asian Tennis Championship to be held at Tashkent from Monday.

The Indian men’s challenge has also been weakened following the withdrawal of Prakash Amritraj who is expected to have a surgery on his left wrist. Karan Rastogi and Aditya Madkekar will play the main draw. — Special Correspondent
