President’s pat for football team

New Delhi: The President Pratibha Patil on Thursday congratulated the Indian football team for its maiden Nehru Cup title victory.

In her message to the team, led by Baichung Bhutia, Patil said the nation was proud of the team’s achievement, team spirit, skills and spirit of sportsmanship. Patil also sent her hearty greetings to P. Pradeep, whose lone goal in the final helped India tame Syria 1-0 on Wednesday. — PTI
