PUDUCHERRY: The Governing Board of Auroville Foundation will meet on September 1 at 4 p.m. at Bharat Nivas Complex in Auroville. The meeting, to be presided by chairman of the board Dr. Karan Singh, will discuss issues pertaining to development of the international township and its 40th anniversary to be celebrated next year. Members including Ajoy Bagchi, Roger Anger, Malini Parthasarathy of The Hindu, Aster Patel and newly inducted member Ameeta Mehra, founder trustee, Gnostic Centre, will participate. The two ex-officio members, Keshav Desiraju, Joint Secretary, (Planning and UNESCO), Department of Secondary Education and Higher Education and S.K Ray, Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Secondary Education and Higher Education, will also participate. In the evening, the members will witness a cultural programme in the Sri Aurobindo Auditorium at Bharat Nivas. Dr. Karan Singh will perform two bhoomi pujas for Swagatham, a VIP guest house, and for a housing complex on September 2.
