THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kannur District Cooperative Bank has written off the entire loan of the aged mother of a soldier killed in action in Jammu and Kashmir. According to a press note issued here, guardsman Ajesh was killed in Jammu and Kashmir fighting terrorists. In a letter written to the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command, Bank’s general manager P. Rajamohan conveyed his organisation’s decision to write off the loan amount of Annakutty Antony, the late soldier’s mother. This gesture of extreme compassion and genuine concern for the welfare of the families of martyrs has been lauded by the service fraternity and would go a long way in boosting the morale of all serving soldiers in the Indian army, the press note added.
