Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Pramod who has been charged with pelting stones at a police jeep on the day of the Nehru Trophy Boat race in Alappuzha. Justice K.T. Sankaran ordered that he be released on executing a bond for Rs.10,000 in the event of his arrest. The court ordered that the bail order would remain in force for a month. The petitioner alleged that he had been slapped with a false case. The car of the petitioner was not parked on the proper side of the road when a Minister’s car came on the way to the boat race venue. The policemen escorting the Minister’s car had beaten up the petitioner and destroyed the windscreen of his car. The incident occurred on August 11 in front of the Thirumala fire station.
