SRSP gets inflows

HYDERABAD: Sriramsagar project began to get inflows from upper reaches of the Godavari, now at the rate of about 10,000 cusecs. This is a result of the heavy rains in Marathwada and Poorna areas of Maharashtra. Maharashtra Government, however, has not yet responded to the State plea to release 15 tmcft from its Jaikwadi dam, which is full. Owing to the inflows, the SRSP gained 4 tmcft. The storage in the reservoir as a result has now gone up to 17.32 tmcft, compared to mere 14 tmcft a few days ago. –Special Correspondent
