DEHRA DUN: The Central Bureau of Investigation has reopened the case of former Hardwar Superintendent of Police Dhoom Singh who went missing on September 23, 2003. The decision to reopen the case was taken after Mr. Singh’s wife approached the High Court in Naini Tal seeking directions to trace the whereabouts of her husband who she believes had been abducted that fateful day. Widely known as an upright officer, Mr. Singh was last seen taking an evening walk along the Ganga Canal near his residence on September 23, 2003. His shoes were found on the banks of the canal. The police, suspecting that he had drowned, got the water supply into the canal stopped but could not locate his body. The case was first investigated by the CB-CID and handed over to the CBI which too failed to locate him and closed the case.
