PASSIONATE COMMITMENT: Rural Affairs Editor of The Hindu Palagummi Sainath (left) receives the 2007 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Journalism, Literature and Creative Communication Arts from the Philippines Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban in Manila on Friday. He was among the seven recipients of the prestigious award. It was in recognition of his “passionate commitment as a journalist to restore the rural poor to India’s national consciousness.”
