At Neyveli, G. Rajesh and R. Kugan scored half-centuries as Cuddalore defeated Villupuram by nine wickets in a league encounter of the TNCA under-17 inter-district cricket tournament here on Friday.

Theni 258 for eight in 50 overs (Mani 53, Ulaganathan 45, Sujith 44 not out) bt Pudukottai 216 in 47.2 overs (Ramkumar 60).
(Cuddalore and Vellore have qualified for the next stage from D zone).
At Thanjavur: G zone: Thanjavur 148 in 49.1 overs (G. Manikandan 50 not out) lost to Karur 150 for eight in 43.2 overs (P. Manoj Prabhakar three for 38).
Perambalur 146 in 45.4 overs (I. Wahith three for 16) lost to Ramanathapuram 148 for nine in 49.2 overs (K. Gnanaprakashamurthy 61, M. Madhialagan three for 31). (Ramanathapuram and Madurai have qualified for the next stage from G zone).
