Good spells by Sanuth and Jins

KOTTAYAM: Thiruvananthapuram was in a position of strength against host Kottayam on the opening day of the two-day South Zone inter-district under-22 cricket tournament at the Medical College ground on Friday.

Left-arm spinner Sanuth (five for 58) and Jins (four for 21) bowled well to skittle out Kottayam for 113 in 32.3 overs.

In reply, Thiruvananthapuram was poised to take the first innings lead after ending the day at 104 for five.
