Probe encounter death of “Vellai” Ravi: NGO

CHENNAI: The Campaign Committee Against Fake Encounters has demanded an inquiry into the encounter death of “Vellai” Ravi as there were contradictory versions from the police.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, A.Marx, a member of the fact-finding team, said they visited the spot where Ravi was killed recently.

The allegations made by the family members against the police should be probed by a sitting judge, he added. From the information gathered from various persons, it is suspected that the entire operation was planned and it was a fake encounter, he charged.
