NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old woman who hurled a stone at Union Railway Minister Lalu Yadav’s car outside his Tughlaq Road residence here on Friday has been arrested. The Minister escaped unhurt.
According to the police, Rita, who runs a private institute in West Bengal, had come to meet the Minister to seek his help in getting a job in the Capital. She was waiting outside his residence along with several other persons to meet the Minister, when she suddenly hurled a stone at the Minister’s car.
“She had been trying to meet the Minister for the past three days. When she failed to get an appointment today [on Friday] as well, she threw a stone at Mr. Yadav’s car while he was leaving for Parliament,” said a senior police officer.
She was then overpowered by the security men posted outside the residence of the Minister and handed over to the police.
