COIMBATORE: Tata Indicom and Samsung have come out with the country’s first touch screen-based dual SIM smart world phone. A press release from Vinayak Deshpande, President, Enterprise Solution, Tate Teleservices Limited and Hyunbai Kim, Vice President and Head, CDMA Division, Samsung Telecommunications India Private Limited, the unique phone will contain two slots to hold two SIMs unlike normal phones that have one. Customers will get the benefit of high quality mobility. Samsung Duo packs a host of latest cutting edge features like Large 2.2” TFT touch screen, 1.3 mega pixel camera, micro SD card slot and MP3/AAC+ player with A2DP Bluetooth support. The handset will pack in handwriting recognition, file viewer, sketch memo, advanced organiser capability with functional screen and India-specific applications like Indian calendar, Hinglish, mobile prayer, Panchang and cricket scorer, the release added. The handset supports data speeds at a speed of 153 kbps on Tata Indicom network and can be connected to the laptop through Bluetooth. The set is priced at Rs. 11,999 and packs in some interesting offers.
