‘Mahakumbabishekam’ performed at temple

MAYILADUTURAI: A large number of devotees witnessed the ‘mahakumbabishekam’ of Sri Medha Dakshinamurthy Temple on the A.V.C. College campus in Mayiladuthurai on Friday.

A new mandapam was built in the temple which was renovated by the Anbanathapuram Vahayara Charitable Trust at a cost of several lakhs of rupees.

Sivachariyars led by N. Subramanya Sivachariyar of Mayiladuturai performed the ‘mahakumbabishekam’ to Lord Vidya Ganapathy, Balasubramanyar and Medha Dakshinamurthy shrines.

Srilasri Shanmuga Desika Gnanasambanda Paramacharya Swamigal, the head of Dharmapuram Adheenam Mutt and several dignitaries attended the three-day yagasala and other pujas that preceded the ‘mahakumbabishekam’ rituals at the temple.
