Walking free: Actor Salman Khan comes out of the Jodhpur Central Jail on Friday.

JAIPUR: Actor Salman Khan was on Friday released from the Jodhpur Central Jail on bail after six nights in confinement in the chinkara poaching case. The Rajasthan High Court admitted his revision petition against the award of five-year imprisonment. Justice H.R. Panwar granted him bail on a personal bond of Rs.1 lakh and two sureties for Rs. 50,000 each. Salman will have to appear in person when the court takes up the revision petition on October 24.

The actor came out of the jail around 6 p.m.

The actor, along with Katrina Kaif, his sisters Alvira and Arpita, took a chartered flight to Mumbai. His scriptwriter-father Saleem Khan and mother Salma left earlier by a regular flight at 6 p.m. The day’s hearing, for about three hours, was held in the principal seat of the High Court in Jodhpur despite a protest by local lawyers against the establishment of a Jaipur Bench of the High Court.
